If that does not work I would suggest trying to find a 25-31617-01 Synapse adapter cable and STI85-0200 USB Synapse cable. This would allow you to connect the scanner right to the USB port and it should work without any extra programming. I believe the cost of the two cables (if you have to purchase them new) is almost as much as a new LS1203 scanner with USB cable.
